Martinovo is a holiday that dates back to times before our era. Back then, it was celebrated somewhat differently, and its significance was also slightly different. Today, the celebration of Martinovo mainly revolves around the feast of wine, held on November 11th, on the feast day of St. Martin.
In Ruše, a walk along the Wine Route takes place for Martin's celebration, where stalls offer Martin's delicacies and wine tastings. The event is also accompanied by a cultural program, including performances by the Ruše brass band, a majorette group, and a choir, with a visit from the wine queen. The most important moment is the christening of must into wine at the "big barrel".
