Ruše are a town and the centre of the municipality of the same name in the Drava Valley under the northern slopes of Pohorje in western Štajerska, about 12 km west of Maribor.
The municipality has good bus connections with neighbouring municipalities (Lovrenc na Pohorje and Selnica ob Drava), and there is also a railway connection with Maribor and Koroška through Ruše.
