Culture in Ruše

A city with a rich history

Ruše has a rich cultural heritage, and as a result, over the years, they have carefully nurtured their devotion to cultural activities, which still today represent the everyday life of many citizens. The large number of cultural societies, clubs, federations, families and associations is proof that we always succeed in handing down traditions and customs from generation to generation, which will also be cultivated by our descendants. The concept of culture is broad. It covers any activity that contributes to the spiritual well-being of an individual or society. This is also the purpose of the Ruše branch of the Public Fund of the Republic of Slovenia for Cultural Activities (JSKD OI Ruše), which takes care of the cultural development of the local community.

Festivals in Ruše

Many cultural events, events and festivals take place in the place. The largest is certainly the Ruše Annual Stage festival, which takes place every August on a beautiful, unique natural stage in the middle of Pohorje.

Glazerjevi dnevi

Glazerjevi Dnevi is a project to commemorate Janko Glazer, a Slovenian poet, librarian, literary historian, and editor who was born in Ruše. At the same time, the purpose of the festival is to encourage musical and literary creativity.

Festival Letni oder Ruše

The Ruše Letni Oder comes to life every year in the month of August. It offers a wide range of experiences and events in Ruše in different locations: from top concerts, one-off shows, social events, exhibitions and culinary offerings. The festival is made possible by the loyal support of volunteers, sponsors and the Municipality of Ruše.

Kantfest

The main goal of the KANTFEST festival is to enable the presentation and confrontation of new, unestablished authors (especially young ones) through a call for proposals. On the other hand, it wants to bring together the best that we have in this genre under its festival roof. The KANTFEST festival thus consists of the selection and presentation of young singer-songwriters, intercultural dialogue, concerts, production, and post-production.
