By the Ruše−Fala railway line, at kilometer marker 15.3, there is a fundamental benchmark with a Latin inscription in a stable gneiss wall.
Of all the benchmarks in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, only this one has been preserved in the territory of Slovenia.
The benchmark was built during the Austro-Hungarian period to determine the altitudes of individual elevation points (benchmarks). It still serves to detect ground movements over a long period (over 100 years) and to determine precise altitude.
