Since 2019, the municipality of Ruše has held the title of a "Reading-friendly municipality" and is one of 52 municipalities to hold this title. We were successful in the competition for obtaining the title, awarded by the Association of Public Libraries, the Community of Municipalities of Slovenia, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, for a period of three years.
As part of the project, we decided to set up "Beribajte" in the municipality, which was created as a collection of ideas on how to bring reading culture even closer to people. These are small wooden houses in a miniature form of the Ruše Latin School, in which books of various genres are stored.
Someone once said: "Books are dreams we hold in our hands, and reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body." Welcome to the mysterious world of Beribajte.
You are invited to visit Beribajte at various locations in the municipality: Bistrica ob Dravi Cultural Center, Bezena Community Center, Rast Ruše Public Institute, the park in front of the Ruše Municipality Building, Ruše Community Center, Smolnik Community Center, Ruše Sports Park, and Ruše Health Centre. Books are available for you to read from spring to fall. In winter, books are waiting for you on the shelves of the library in Ruše.
