In the forest, 100 meters north of the Maribor-Dravograd railway, there are 34 ancient burial mounds located in three clusters within an isolated flat woodland. Half of them have been excavated since the mid-19th century. The cemetery was first identified in 1915

HILLFORT IN BISTRICA PRI RUŠAH (EŠD: 6339)

It lies NE of the village, and is still unexplored, probably from the Early Iron Age.

URN CEMETERY IN RUŠE (EŠD: 6340)

The landmark was discovered in 1875. Numerous ceramic finds and bronze objects in 172 graves were the first to draw attention to a stronger settlement along the Drava River and made it possible to define a "Ruše community". The finds are mostly stored in Graz, Vienna and some in the National Museum in Ljubljana.

TRACES OF BUILDINGS IN RUŠE (EŠD: 6342)

Buildings already existed on the grassy land next to the railway line before the Second World War. After World War II, traces of buildings from the prehistoric and Roman periods were discovered in various places. The settlement is still unexplored archaeologically, but judging by the finds, it belongs to a burial ground in the immediate vicinity.

REMAINS OF MITHRAEUM (EŠD: 6343)

East of the Ruše stream, in the forest by the Drava River, remains of a Mithraeum were identified in 1845 and were subsequently partially investigated. The Mithraeum dates back to the 3rd century AD. In the smaller sanctuary, an altar relief with well-preserved figures and inscription, as well as four smaller rounded plaques, was found.

ANCIENT MOUNDS IN RUŠE (EŠD: 6344)

To the west of the railway line, there are several ancient mounds in the forest. Before the First World War, they were partially excavated, but the finds were lost. According to the existing knowledge of Roman burials, the mounds represent the last complex group of mound burials towards the west.

ROMAN MOUNDS IN RUŠE, at Falska c. 87, Ruše (EŠD: 6345)

On the plain beneath Pohorje, on the clearing known as 'Na gavgah,' where gallows were once erected, there are two Roman burial mounds. At this location, the St. Paul monks, in addition to carrying out paternal jurisdiction, also administered capital punishment. The sentence was pronounced at Fala Castle.

FOUNDATIONS OF A ROMAN BUILDING (EŠD: 6346)

In the plain situated below Pohorje, towards the southwest of the western mound, there are the remains of a Roman construction. The building, measuring approximately 15 x 15 meters, represents a high-quality building complex known as "Villae Rusticae". The southern foundation of the building is still well-preserved and features a heating system that uses a heating duct.
