Ruše - A sports city

Walking paths

Walks at the foot of Pohorje and along the Drava conjure up a wonderful adventure where you can recharge your batteries and enjoy nature.

starts on Areška Cesta, where it is indicated by a signpost and leads via Kalvarija to Dobnikov Križ. Here it branches off to the left to the ridge of Lipužev Vrh and goes to Kreči, where it descends to Bezena or continues to the farm “Gregorc” in Log.

...starts at the intersection near the market in Bistrica ob Dravi. It is marked with a signpost and leads along Mlinščica to Kožuh, where it crosses the stream, and then continues along the road to the Hunting Lodge at Pečke.

starts in Bistrica ob Dravi and leads along Vorohova Street, then through the forest past Kovačič and Mašat farms to Prinčev Vrh and Meranovo. From here it leads past lower and upper Krajner to Pečke.

... starts at Trg Vstaje in Ruše (on the bridge over Rušica). It continues through the “Linglo” courtyard, past the theatre, over the Ruše meadows in a westerly direction to Vranjekova and Glazerjeva Streets. It is possible to return to Ruše via Knifičeva Street and Falska Cesta.

... runs directly along the Drava River, from the mouth of Lobnica to the Drava River to “Zeleni Dol” in Bistrica ob Dravi.

A traditional hike along Srčna pot, takes place in Ruše, where you can take care of your body in a friendly way by either walking or running.

The trail runs from the centre of Ruše, where we can continue in both directions past the Letno Gledališče at the fork of the Pod Goroj Walking Trail, as the trail is circular. You can continue the path along the Pod Goroj walking path to the next point (900 m away), where the marked path rises to the Pohorje in the direction of the Pliberšek homestead. Passing the Pliberšek Beekeeping, the route continues along the forest road that leads to Pohorje, towards Pisker (the so-called Areška cesta). On the side of the road, you will find an educational apiary, which is built according to the basic standards of an apiary typical of Slovene beekeeping. Next to him stands the guardian of the forest with a sweet tooth, the bear. At the apiary, you can read about the history of beekeeping in both Slovenia and in Ruše, learn about the healing effects of honey, and honey products, and at the beehives you can see photos of Ruše’s attractions. The path continues along the forest path and ends at the junction of the two walking paths, where we started our circular path.

The trail will be upgraded to a beekeeping-learning trail, on which various beekeeping technologies will be demonstrated in individual sections.

Additional offer: You can see a description of beekeeping technologies with prior notice in the Community Apiary of the Ruše Beekeeping Association, which is located behind the Music School (dislocated unit of the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet), where you can also get interesting information about the history of beekeeping in Ruše.

The special feature of the beekeeping route is that it connects as many as three apiaries - the community apiary of the Ruše beekeeping association, the Andrej Pliberšek beekeeping apiary and the mini teaching apiary along the connecting route to Areh.

Duration: 45 minutes Difficulty: suitable for families

In cooperation with LAS Drava, the Municipality of Ruše revitalized 6 sculptures and arranged a learning path. We want to present this beautiful but forgotten cultural heritage to the people of Ruše and other visitors. We want the sculptures to be seen, communicated and recognized again.

You are invited to take a walk along the learning trail around the newer cultural monuments in Ruše.
